Метод получения: Масло литсея кубеба получают отгонкой с водяным паром. Выходы масла колеблются в широких пределах, причем для культивируемых сортов деревьев удается получить 2-5% масла от массы плодов.
Производство этого масла в Китайской Народной Республике вошло в практику только в начале 50-х годов, но уже в 1980 г. здесь его выработка достигла 577 т. Оказалось, что дерево литсея является превосходным производителем цитраля, так нужного для получения душистых веществ и витамина-А.
Используемая часть растения: плоды
Область произрастания: Растет на востоке Азии (Китай). Культивируется на Тайване и в Японии. Масло производится в основном в Китае, причем преимущественно для употребления внутри страны.
Другие виды: Не является родственником лимонной вербены (Aloysia triphylla). Принадлежит к тому же семейству, что и лавр или корица.

Методики применения
Аромакурительницы: 4-5 к. на 15 м2.
Холодные ингаляции: длительность 5-7 минут.
Ванны: 4-7 к.
Массаж: 5-7 к. на 15 г транспортного масла.
Для улучшения памяти: на макушку, затылочную ямку, виски, «третий глаз», область сонных артерий, межключичную ямку нанести левзею с транспортным маслом (макадамия, авокадо, жожоба) в пропорции 3:4.
При опьянении сверх задуманной степени следует пропитать небольшой кусочек черного хлеба 3 каплями левзеи, смешанной с 1/2 ч.ложки кефира, и постараться как можно дольше жевать. Запить соком, чаем (не кофе!).
При похмельном синдроме: принять ароматическую ванну t = 32-36°С. Пожевать кусочек «левзейного хлеба». Нанести эфирное масло на виски, затылочные бугры, на шею в области сонных артерий, ладошки, внутреннюю поверхность бедер и подошвы. Также в течение 5-7 минут – холодные ингаляции.
Аромамедальоны: 2-3 к.
Обогащение сухого чая: 7-8 к.
Внутреннее употребление: 1 к. левзеи с медом, вареньем, сухофруктами, печеньем, в хлебной «капсуле» 2 раза в день. Запивать кефиром, соком, чаем.
Меры предосторожности
Возможна фотосенсебилизация, не наносить на кожу меньше, чем за 60 мин до приема солнечных ванн.
Во время беременности нужно быть осторожным при использовании этого эфирного масла. В чистом виде не используется. Содержащийся в эфирном масле цитрал может негативно влиять на предстательную железу. Сильный аромат может оказывать негативное влияние на психику детей.
В виде 8%-ного раствора в петролятуме за 48 час. не вызывает раздражения кожи человека, не оказывает сенсибилизирующего действия. Фототоксический эффект отсутствует.
Не имеет ограничений IFRA на применение в парфюмерии и косметики.
